A Valentine For Robin

Today is Valentines Day 2019, my lovely bride is not with me here in beautiful downtown Ivins though. Robin left at 5:30 this morning to drive to Salt Lake to help orchestrate a gender reveal party for ‘our kids,’ Travis and Jess. They are expecting their first child in July, and Robin and I could not be more excited for the the expectant parents (and for us, the expectant grandparents). I am holding down the fort in Ivins, which essentially means keeping our dogs safe and sound until Robin returns. It would be quite an ordeal for Robin, me, Boston and Jordy to travel to such a thing together as the two Schnauzer boys are (and I’m putting this mildly) anti-social little beasts. We absolutely own their behavior, and we still try to instill discipline into the little monsters, but unfortunately it just bounces off. They are barkers, and they pretty much only love their parents. Oh well (heavy sigh).

But, this day dedicated to showing one’s love for one’s significant other has presented me with an opportunity to express my love for my wife of nearly 12 years. If Robin were here, I’d have to do this surreptitiously, and I’d have to be sneaky too. 😉

I wrote a post about our our older dog, Boston, and I mentioned that due to his healthcare needs it is very difficult for Robin and I to travel now. But before our precious kid got sick, I dragged Robin from sea to shining sea, and often for the express purpose of watching my (and sometimes her) favorite baseball and football teams. So I’m just going to tell Robin very publicly, for the dozen or so humans who look at our website, how much I appreciate and love her for being such a good sport and tagging along. She will not be thrilled that I did this, but damn, check out the hottie next to me in these photos!

Happy Valentines Day, Sweetheart, I love you more than anything.
