Not being able to see my beautiful 3 year old granddaughter as often as I used to is most definitely the hardest part of the transition to the ‘Back Nine‘. I took for granted how convenient it was to have her so close to me while we lived in Riverton. A quick phone call to her parents and I would be at their house within ten minutes.
I have and will continue to visit my children in SLC as often as possible (currently monthly) and Alexis will always be on the top of my list of people to see. I have a nephew that tells me that won’t last long and visits will start to become fewer and farther between. I don’t need to mention his name, he knows who he is. Thank god for FaceTime for in between visits.
Alexis starts preschool this month and I couldn’t be more excited. She is so curious and eager to learn. It will be great to give her the opportunity to interact with other children.
I’ve shared a few pictures of Alexis and I at the Splash Pad in Bluffdale during my last visit in July. We had a blast with my sister and her granddaughter, Ainzlee. I will never forget a conversation those two sweet little girls had in the backseat of my car on the way home from the Splash Pad. It went something like this:
Ainzlee: Robbie are we going to McDonald’s?
Alexis: Her name isn’t Robbie, it’s Grandma.
I love you, Alexis, Grandma will be back soon.
