Gender Reveal

The day finally arrived on February 14th when we were able to determine the gender of our Baby Oliver arriving in July. The grandmas (Jess’ mom and myself) were invited to the doctor visit to watch the ultrasound and witness the gender of our grandbaby. The gender needed to stay a surprise for Travis and Jess until the following day when we planned a Gender Reveal party for grandparents, siblings and a few close friends of Jess.  Within seconds of the ultrasound locating the baby, the gender was shared with the grandmas.  Keeping this a secret until the party was the hardest secret I’ve needed to keep in a long, long time.  Watching the faces of our children as the technician pointed out little fingers, toes, ears and eyes was priceless and something every grandparent should experience.

The Gender Reveal party was a great success.  We had yummy food, fun games and of course, great company.  Travis and Jess asked that we keep the party plans a secret and for the most part we did.  It took several creative minds to pull this off, but it was a memory that will last forever.

The Gender Reveal game required Mom and Dad to pick one egg at a time from a carton of blue and pink dyed eggs, and crack them against their foreheads. One egg out of fourteen was raw, which indicated the gender of their baby, the others were hard boiled. Mom and Dad took turns and eventually this was the result.

IT’S A BOY!
